Tell The Story You Want To Tell

You are not the first person (or the last) to admit that you’ve ended up doing the wrong thing.
For the wrong people.
For the wrong reasons.
Something that didn’t bring you the joy you thought it would.

If you’ve ever wound up at the end of a path that you have chosen and wondered how the heck you got there… try this.

Start telling the story you want to tell, not the story you think you have to tell.

Sounds easy.… and yet we often find it so hard Joel.

Yes — not easy. The above discovery does involve some discomfort & internal struggle which requires reflecting on self worth, self believe, confidence etc — delicate areas in which to tread — but necessary & fruitful ones if you want to get back to the joy and to avoid making the same mistakes.

        Thought provoking post (as always)

          Love that phrase Joel.
          “Get back to the joy.”

I hear that the year of the snake is all about sloughing off old stories and wiggling into new ones. I’ve definitely been sensing that vibe in the air — for myself and for others. I’ve been standing at a crossroads for a while, but I’m still not yet sure which path to choose. Our stories are an important part of not only our past, but our future. I am just starting to suss out the story I need to tell — the one that will send me forward on a path that I’ll love. It takes time and effort to figure it out. Our true stories are often buried deep beneath the makeshift ones we’ve been telling ourselves for years.
